The following three videos are a good place to get your feet wet when looking to get started with Design Thinking.

Watch Doug Dietz's explanation of "design thinking", and how we are able to learn about the potential impacts it can have on many sectors of our life. Doug is the Principal Design Thinker at GE healthcare. This video is a good first introduction, it is recommended to take notes with this video as it is a great foundation.

Hear from some Stanford University students on how they utilized the Design Thinking process to develop a life saving device. See design thinking in action, as utilized by students.

David Kelly, perhaps the Godfather of Design Thinking, demystifies what it means to think creatively within a design process. This can help counter feelings of "I don't know how to do this!" or "I don't have any ideas" as students begin the work of design.

Design Thinking is about DOING. It is about ACTION. It is fundamentally NOT intellectual, it is about MAKING. The resources listed below offer a wide variety of actionable procedures, experiences, tasks that can help designers go through each stage of the design process.

David Kelly, whose TedTalk is linked above, is the founder of IDEO which is perhaps the premier design thinking firm in the world. This link is organized by the stages of the design thinking process, each with suggested actionable items.

Another resource from IDEO, but specifically geared toward educators. Some of the information here is "meta" is centered on not only students utilizing design, but also the adults utilizing it for the purpose of redesigning the educational experience.
